7th Sunday after Pentecost + July 23, 2017
Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried-but actually, you've been planted.
You Can Make a Difference in a child's life.
Immanuel will be working with The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services to "adopt" a child to provide back-to-school clothes and backpack. A sign-up sheet will be available as soon as the pertinent information for the child is received from BHCare, hopefully by the end of July and donations will be due no later than August 13, 2017. Thank you. Contact: Ellen Fritz
This Week at Immanuel
We are pleased to welcome you to the website of Immanuel Lutheran Church. We are located in Oxford, Connecticut.
We are a lively, active group of people, young and old and in-between, and at various stages in our lives as Christian believers. Some of our families have been part of our life for generations, and some are new, not only to Immanuel, but to Christian faith.
What we share is a life of prayer and praise, fellowship and service. This is a community open to all!
We would still be more pleased to welcome you in person. If this website can help inform and invite you to join us for worship, fellowship, or service in our community, it will have served our hopes well.
Welcome to Immanuel, a family-friendly church that reaches out to make disciples of all ages!
Don't forget to donate your abundance of produce to the food bank. (Pick-up will be on a weekly basis). Please place your produce in a bag, bring to the kitchen and contact Mark Waggner by email to let him know something needs to be picked up. Thank you.
We send the Sunday bulletin to our Shut-ins and place a flowery sticker on the envelope to cheer them but we've run out - if you received some stickers in the mail that do not say happy birthday or have sentiments on them, and would like to donate them for this purpose, please put them in Mauree's mailbox. Thank you.
If You or a Loved One Goes to the Hospital...
At some point you may find yourself or a loved one in the hospital for medical care due to illness/injury etc.
Please let us know! Pastor Niki will be in touch with you and on most occasions will be able to come and visit if you wish. However, we can't pray for you or visit you if we don't know, so....
* call the church office or Pastor Niki to inform of hospitalization
* Let the hospital know that you are a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Oxford, and would like them to contact the church (please state that you give permission for your information to be released to the Pastor)
